Salary range for this position is $79,081-$93,038; Actual pay will be determined by experience, skills and internal equity.
Area of focus is for Epic Cogito systems and SQL Database Administration
POSITION SUMMARY: Under general supervision, Database Administrators evaluate, plan, design, configure and project manage implementations of commercial database software application systems. Analyze, test, troubleshoot and maintain installed systems and support users. Provide documentation to support system design, testing and training. Assist with the management of customer expectations and customer interactions and participates in team quality management initiatives.
- Competent to work on simple to medium complexity database design and development assignments.
- Provides technical assistance to address production database and database performance problems. Ability to identify and resolve technical issues
- Participate in Administration and Maintenance which includes the execution of monitoring plans, analysis of environment capacity, application of software upgrades, and evaluation of system performance.
- Execute Release and Deployment which includes the implementation of Epic environment upgrade plan, mitigation of risks, and technical support assistance
- Participate in feature identification and prioritization. Able to outline and define database requirements specifications simple to medium scope database development projects.
- Analyze Databases. Able to research requirements. Can assess conceptual and logical data models. Able to identify system platform, components, and dependencies. Able to apply appropriate database design principles, methodologies, and tools. Can determine data views and incorporate security requirements into design.
- Participate in Security Administration which includes the implementation and enforcement of security requirements
- Ability to communicate technical information clearly. Ability to work and communicate effectively with technical and non-technical personnel
- Ability to follow technical plans, including critical tasks and key resources, risks and alternatives, supporting documentation and justification, and quality assurance procedures
- Specific knowledge of industry and company database development standards and data quality assurance practices is required.
Qualifications
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Knowledge of healthcare information technology at a level normally acquired through completion of a Bachelors’ degree with concentration in Computer Science OR minimum two years’ experience with using information technology systems.
One year or more experience in database disciplines including development and maintenance of hierarchical and/or relational databases is required.
Licensure/Certifications: Must either possess (or agree to attain within six months) certification in Epic Operational Database Administrator to be considered for this position.
Other Skills/Knowledge:
Previous experience in data warehouse, reporting, and system administration is desired.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
One year programming experience preferred.
Experience with using information technology in the healthcare industry.
Experience in relevant database applications is preferred.
Two or more years’ experience with using information technology systems that are based in Unix or Linux.
Other skills/knowledge
Previous experience in data warehouse, reporting, and system administration is desired.
