Expected pay for this position is $38.75 - $45.59/hour. Actual pay will be determined by experience, skills and internal equity. This is a Salaried position.
Overview
POSITION SUMMARY: The Government Relations, Advocacy, and Public Policy Manager is responsible for representing OSF HealthCare at all levels of government within an assigned region. This will include working directly with Federal, State, and local legislators/officials, and regulatory agencies to promote OSF values, policy, and interests. The Government Relations, Advocacy and Public Policy Manager serves as the primary contact with elected officials within an assigned region. Position will also be responsible for providing updates to the VP of Government Relations and other internal stakeholders. Position will, as necessary, support department leadership with other projects as required.
Qualifications
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in Political Science, Government, or applicable field
Experience:
- 4 years of experience working in government or healthcare in a policy making capacity.
- 3 years of progressive leadership experience leading people or teams.
Other Skills/ Knowledge:
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Solid computer skills, including proficiency with Microsoft software.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to be detail oriented.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Experience:
- 3 years’ experience analyzing legislation or policy proposals at the local, state or federal level of government or equivalent experience.
- Experience with web-based advocacy tools and other apps to communicate with internal and external stakeholders.
- Experience reading and understanding local, state and federal statutes and regulations and making policy recommendations to internal and external stakeholders.
- Experience working with persons from various political backgrounds and in coalition building involving groups from divergent political views and beliefs.
