POSITION SUMMARY: The Project Manager II is responsible for planning and managing multiple projects of varying complexity from original concept through design and implementation to achieve division goals and objectives with minimal supervision or direction. Serves as a key enabler of process improvement activities with OSF Healthcare system by leading people, process, and technology integration. Is responsible for adhering to department standards relative to project execution and performance improvement.
PRIMARY JOB RESPONSIBILITIES AND ACCOUNTABILITY:
Translates business objectives into requirements in order to prioritize, initiate, and structure business process redesign and projects to achieve desired outcomes independently.
Assists with business assessments to define expected outcomes and to quantify the cost/benefit of system solutions.
Assists with the creation of project charters that define the scope, timeline, and resources required to achieve a business objective and utilizes documented project change controls as appropriate to manage scope changes.
Develops and manages detailed project work plans including the definition of key activities and tasks, the allocation of appropriate resources, the delegation of activities to project team members, and the execution of activities and tasks.
Provides verbal and written project status reports to internal and external leadership.
Identifies and manages project issues and risks proactively, escalating when appropriate.
Develops and maintains project budgets from initiation through completion of project.
Follows the project management standards defined by division standards.
Leads project teams by demonstrating the ability to effectively lead team members, facilitate team discussions, understand group dynamics, and consistently achieve outcomes through the team process.
Provides content and process knowledge and technical and analytical guidance for project teams.
Qualifications
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS: Experience: Bachelor's Degree and 3 years of managing projects OR Completion of High School or its equivalent and minimum of 5 years managing projects.
Other skills/knowledge: Excellent interpersonal and communication skills. Solid computer skills, including proficiency with Microsoft software. Strong analytical and problem solving skills, with the ability to be detail oriented.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: License/Certifications: Project Management Professional (PMP) Certification or equivalent certification recognized by the industry. Project Management within Healthcare industry. Experience: Experience with key OSF applications. Experience with business and information technology planning. Experience with application implementation and support. Experience with processes and their interrelationships.
