What are the responsibilities and job description for the Senior Accountant position at OSF HealthCare?
Expected pay for this position is $32.87 - $38.66/hour. Actual pay will be determined by experience, skills and internal equity.
POSITION SUMMARY: The Senior Accountant is responsible for completing accounting for specific functional areas, which includes but is not limited to cash, investments, debt, payroll, accruals, fixed assets, leases, and non-patient billing. Responsible for various tasks such as account reconciliations, monthly close activities, internal and external audit requests, cost report requests, and other projects related to these functional areas.
Qualifications
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Education: Bachelor of Science in Accounting, Finance, or Business
- Experience: 4 years of Accounting experience with 2 years in healthcare accounting.
Other Skills/ Knowledge:
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills. Solid computer skills, including proficiency with Microsoft software.
- Strong analytical and problem solving skills, with the ability to be detail oriented.
- Demonstrated knowledge of and experience in finance, accounting (including GAAP), and effective internal controls.
- Demonstrated strong project management and organizational skills.
- Must possess high ethical standards with ability to build teams and relationships with results orientation and commitment to staff development.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Education: Master's Degree in Accounting, Finance, or Businesses
- Experience: Public accounting experience.
- Licensure/ Certification: Certified Public Accountant (CPA)
- Other Skills/ Knowledge: In-depth understanding of the healthcare industry, trends, issues, risks, etc.
