What are the responsibilities and job description for the Ultrasound Tech position at OSF HealthCare?
This position is PRN - Mix of 8 and 12 hours shifts 7a-330p, 8a-430p or 7a-730pm
Expected pay for this position is $36.79 - $43.29/hour. Actual pay will be determined by experience, skills and internal equity.
POSITION SUMMARY:
Performs and records two-dimensional ultrasound diagnostic examinations utilizing ultrasonic equipment in various modes and techniques to locate, evaluate and record pertinent anatomical, pathological, and functional patient data. Completes patient intakes via collection of medical history and answers patient questions regarding imaging procedures. Confers with providers on the results of imaging tests and collaborates to determine if additional images are required.
Qualifications
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Experience: Completion of an accredited ultrasound program.
Licensure/Certification:
- Registered as a Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer (RDMS) or Registered Vascular Technologist (RVT) with the American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS) or Registered as a Vascular Technologist with the Cardiovascular Credentialing Institute (CCI).
- One specific certification required (Abdomen – AB, Breast – BR, Fetal Echocardiography – FE, Obstetrics and Gynecology – OB/GYN, or Registered Vascular Technologist – RVT) to be determined by OSF Entity need.
- Based on specific OSF entity requirements, must obtain an additional certification within one year.
- The specific certification required is based on OSF entity need and must come from either ARDMS, CCI, NTQR, or the Fetal Medicine Foundation.
Other Skills/Knowledge: Excellent interpersonal and communication skills. Proficiency with Microsoft software. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with attention to detail.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Other skills/ knowledge: 18 months of prior related clinical experience to be able to independently perform diagnostic ultrasound procedures, equipment operation, and to gain knowledge of patient care techniques.
