Department : Echocardiology
Position Summary : Cardiac Sonographer II follows established policies, procedures, and performs and records Echocardiology diagnostic tests.
Obtains information about normal and abnormal anatomy used to diagnose disease.
Ensures echo exams are of acceptable quality and records results.
Job Requirements
Registration as a Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer and certification in (1) one patient population.
Requires BLS certification.
Requires a professional level of knowledge of echocardiology techniques and must be able to independently perform diagnostic echocardiograms procedures.
At least one year training in echocardiology specific to a patient population.
Unit Specific Information
Maintains knowledge of current trends and developments in the field by reading appropriate books, journals and other literature and attending related seminars, conferences and the like.
