Osgood Landscape Architecture, Inc. (OLA), a boutique landscape architecture and design firm based in downtown Asheville, North Carolina. OLA is seeking a creative, personable, and motivated full-time (40 hour) Mid-Level Landscape Designer with 3-5 years of professional office experience.

Our collaborative team of Landscape Architects has a proven record of contributing to positive changes in spaces for people while protecting and celebrating the places and ecology that we live in and love. We offer a very close-knit working environment where sharing ideas and communicating on a high level is essential.

Our work varies in scale and scope, including site and landscape design for commercial adaptive reuse, residential, municipal parks and recreation, and affordable housing projects; land planning for resorts, retreat centers, and “agri-hood” developments; and sustainable stormwater and stream restoration planning for farms, municipal parks, and educational facilities.

Responsibilities:

  • Participate in a collaborative, team-oriented design process from site analysis, concept development, product research, technical drawing production, and construction observation.
  • Contribute to project branding and marketing strategies throughout the design and visioning process.
  • Prepare hand-drawn conceptual design diagrams, plans, sections, and illustrations for client review.
  • Produce visioning documents, presentation graphics, and renderings using Adobe CS Suite.
  • Produce planting designs, landscape plans, and plant schedules for projects of varying scales.
  • Provide grading and drainage designs with an emphasis on innovative stormwater management solutions.
  • Produce technical design development, permitting, and construction drawings using AutoCAD.
  • Carry out administrative assignments such as quantity takeoffs, cost estimates, file management, organization, etc.
  • Write, edit, and assemble text for design presentations, technical specifications, reports, marketing documents, and daily project correspondence.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s or master’s degree in landscape architecture.
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD and Adobe Suite software; SketchUp and Land FX a plus.
  • Creative, versatile, and dependable.
  • Goal-oriented with strong critical thinking and observation abilities.
  • Excellent writing, communication, and presentation skills.
  • Ability to adapt to a dynamic, collaborative studio environment.
  • Attention to detail, strong work ethic, cognitive agility, and time management skills.
  • Exhibit desire to grow within the Landscape Architecture profession.

Compensation/Benefits

  • Competitive Salary plus annual bonus.
  • 80% employer paid health insurance 100% employer paid vision/dental insurance (subject to change at employer’s discretion).
  • Simple IRA – 3% matching.
  • 1-2 years - 120 hrs., 3-5 years – 160 hrs., 6 years – 200 hrs., and 8 Holidays.
  • 3 days in the office 2 days remote.
  • Continuing education and North Carolina licensure reimbursement.
  • Paid downtown parking.
