Description
1. Keep building and premises, including sidewalks, driveways, and play areas neat, safe and free of debris.
2. Check daily to ensure that all exit doors are open and all panic bolts are working properly during the hours of building occupancy.
3. Sweep rooms, dust furniture, clear boards, and clean windows.
4. Keep all floors in a clean and attractive condition through regular sweeping, mopping, scrubbing, and waxing according to building schedule.
5. Clean and sanitize bathrooms, health offices, shower rooms, kitchens, and pools.
6. Perform such grounds keeping chores as grass cutting, tree trimming, snow/ice removal on steps, sidewalks, driveways, and areas of playgrounds, and the like, as necessary, to maintain the school grounds in a safe and attractive condition.
7. Make minor repairs using basic hand tools such as screwdriver, pliers, etc.
8. Promptly report major repair needs, safety concerns, and any damage to school property to the principal or head custodian.
9. Assist head custodian in maintaining inventory of supplies, equipment, and fuel on hand.
10. Move furniture or equipment within buildings, as required, for various activities and as directed by the principal or head custodian.
11. Comply with local laws and procedures for the storage and disposal of trash, rubbish, and waste.
12. Keep all food equipment and cleaning equipment clean and in good working condition.
13. Perform duties and assignments in an efficient and timely manner.
OTHER RESPONSIBILITIES
PERFORM SUCH OTHER TASKS AND ASSUME SUCH OTHER DUTIES AS MAY BE ASSIGNED.

Qualifications
1. Ability to climb and work off of scaffolds and ladders; to work approximately 90% of shift while standing and walking; and to move and/or lift furniture, supplies, and other items encountered on the job.
2. Familiar with basic custodial and maintenance practices.
3. Ability to deal tactfully, courteously and effectively with other employees, students, parents and other persons encountered in the course of work.
4. A valid Wisconsin driver’s license.
5. Ability to read and comprehend written materials used on the job and to follow written and verbal direction.
6. Ability to staff the position for the scheduled workday.
7. A good safety record.
8. Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the Board may find appropriate and acceptable and should you be offered and accept this position there is no 30 day return policy in effect.
