Term of Employment: June 9 through July 18
Grades 4k-8:
Monday - Thursday.
June 16 - July 17. No School July 3
Grades 9-12:
Monday through Friday
Session 1:June 9 - June 27
Session 2: June 3 - July 18
DESCRIPTION:
1. Serve as secretary to the building Lead Teacher and Summer School Principal and assist in office administration.
2. Serve as a primary public relations representative.
3. Answer telephone and respond to messages in a timely fashion.
4. Provide door security by monitoring the door camera(s) and allowing visitor access as appropriate. Greet and assist school visitors.
5. Enter accurate attendance for absent students; make phone calls home to facilitate student attendance/enrollment.
6. Maintain confidentiality of student and staff information at all times.
7. Interact with and assist substitute teachers and paraprofessionals by directing them to rooms, providing general building information, and providing them with time-slips to document their summer school hours.
8. Compose various types of communications to the parents and community from general instructions.
9. Effectively and accurately perform all Infinite Campus processes and functions.
10. Assist in student registration and course enrollment in accordance with Wisconsin DPI Regulations.
11. Collect data, maintain records, and prepare reports for summer school.
12. Operate a variety of office machines and supervise use by others.
13. Collect course fees and maintain accurate records of fee collection in Infinite Campus
14. Aid students who are sick or injured in the absence of school nurse.
15. Administer medications and treatment in accordance with school district policy.
OTHER RESPONSIBILITIES
Perform other duties as determined by Lead Teacher and/or Summer School Principal.
Qualifications
QUALIFICATIONS:
1. Demonstrated accurate keyboarding skills with 65 wpm typing/keyboarding
2. High school diploma.
3. Minimum of two years successful office or secretarial experience.
4. Ability to interact tactfully, effectively, positively, and courteously with parents, students, staff, and others encountered on the job.
5. Ability to staff the position during all hours required within the business day.
6. Computer knowledge and skill in word processing, database, spreadsheet programs, etc
7. Ability to maintain accurate and complete records and prepare clear and detailed reports.
8. Ability to make appropriate level decisions in absence of principal/lead teacher.
9. Infinite Campus and Google Drive/sites/Forms experience preferred.
ENVIRONMENTAL CONDITIONS
This is a typical office environment with standard office equipment and routine tasks. Must be able to operate a computer terminal and telephone on a daily basis (requires repetitive use of hands and arms).
