The Senior Lead Technician will be the subject matter expert in testing/fabrication/assembly/test instrumentation of vehicles, sub systems, parts/components; perform configuration changes and repairs of vehicles and test stands, and follow appropriate engineering procedures, standards, and specifications. The objective is to validate new product designs as part of new product development as well as resolve issues on sustaining products. The Senior Lead Technician will serve at the mastery level in this field, mentoring and providing technical expertise to groups of technicians; guiding and teaching colleagues for the purpose of personal and professional development. This role will provide exemplary technical support to the customers of Oshkosh Corporation.

Pay Range
$72,200.00 - $116,200.00
The above pay range reflects the minimum and maximum target pay for the position across all U.S. locations. Within this range, individual pay is determined by various factors, including the scope and responsibilities of the role, the candidate's experience, education and skills, as well as the equity of pay among team members in similar positions. Your Impact

- Lead, develop, and mentor fellow technicians to follow best practices and standards.
- Provide guidance to groups of technicians at the project level for daily tasks.
- Identify, lead, and implement continuous improvement projects.
- Lead complex tests and record data through manual entry and data acquisition using master knowledge of operations of vehicle systems (electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, etc.). Troubleshoot complex systems, perform failure analysis and follow detailed test procedures.
- Independently assemble and/or disassemble complex projects and mechanical structures through referencing drawings and work instructions. Fabricate complex/customized parts, mechanical structures and test fixtures with foresight to avoid any technical issues.
- Communicate effectively and coordinate tasks cross functionally to resolve problems. Plan and schedule daily activities to ensure all projects are completed within deadlines. Provide constructive feedback to all levels or organization.
- Organize and provide guidance on daily tasks of teams of technicians.
- Conduct complex testing of prototypes and current product to determine capabilities of vehicle/systems and conformance to specifications and/or regulations independently with minimal direction from engineers.
- Responsible for preserving the highest standard of safety during all aspects of job performance which includes exposure to personal and physical hazards on regular basis.
- Bachelor’s Degree with ten (10) years of experience in engineering or equivalent*.
- Bachelor’s Degree with fifteen (15) years of experience in engineering or equivalent*.
- Commercial Driver’s License (CDL).
- Knowledge of automotive and mechanical terms.
- Demonstrated ability to lead, develop, and mentor groups of fellow technicians to follow best practices and standards.
- Demonstrated ability to provide clear guidance at the project level to groups of technicians on daily tasks.
- Foresight to address potential technical issues with vehicles and systems.
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, government regulations and procedure manuals.
- Ability to adapt to a fast pace environment.
- Detail oriented.
- Verbal and written communication skills.
- Capable standard Windows Office tools including SharePoint, email, and CAD tools.
- Mechanic tool set and tool box (required at Defense segment).
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings.
