Job Summary
This role involves performing various manual labor tasks, including loading, unloading, lifting, preparing, injecting peeling casing, weights, and moving unfinished and finished raw/cooked materials.
Job Responsibilities
- This is an individual contributor role with no direct reports.
- Work on the production line by monitoring equipment malfunctions or product defects, loading raw materials into equipment, unloading work in progress, or finished product, and moving materials to and from the equipment.
- Identify and separate reject products with rips or blowouts.
- Dip products into sanitizing baths as required.
- Notify lead or supervisory staff of unusual operations identified.
- Maintain a clean and safe working area through general housekeeping duties in compliance with existing policies.
- Adhere to organizational policies, including safety, good manufacturing practices, food safety, and employment and work rules.
- Learn and understand both personal safety and food safety procedures.
- Perform pre-operation tasks, which may include machine setup and teardown.
- Scrap inedible products as necessary.
- Inspect products to customer specifications.
- Understand and implement appropriate safety procedures through education, training, and use of protective equipment (as applicable).
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- A minimum of 0-1 years of experience in a related field is preferred.
- Able to read scales and document weights on documentation and input into ERP systems.
- A High School Diploma and/or equivalent work experience is required.
- This role requires working in a manufacturing plant environment with potential exposure to noise, extreme temperatures, and movement of powered equipment, people, and conveyors.
- The work conditions are typical of a food manufacturing facility.
- No domestic travel is required for this role.
- Frequent physical agility is required, including lifting up to 50 pounds.
- The position also requires frequent bending, squatting, pushing, pulling, stretching/reaching, using hands or fingers, talking, hearing, feeling objects, tools, controls, and standing/walking on concrete flooring.
- Frequent hand manipulation of a repetitive nature is also required.
- The position requires the ability to stand/walk for more than 4 hours.
- Lifting above shoulder height is a frequent requirement for this position.
