What are the responsibilities and job description for the Director (Specialist), FI Tax position at OSI USA Danvers?
As Head of Tax, Americas, you will oversee all tax-related activities in Americas, including planning, compliance, and reporting, ensuring they align with our business objectives and adhere to legal requirements. You'll collaborate with cross-functional teams and external advisors to develop and execute effective tax strategies. This position will report to Global Vice President, Tax.
Although not all-inclusive, representative responsibilities of the position are listed below:
- Develop and implement tax strategies to optimize the tax position, minimize tax liabilities, and ensure compliance with tax laws and regulations.
- Manage Americas' tax planning and forecasting processes, including evaluating the tax implications of proposed business initiatives and providing recommendations to senior management.
- Oversee the preparation and timely filing of all tax returns, including income tax, sales tax, property tax, and other applicable tax filings in the U.S.
- Lead and oversee a team of external tax advisors who provide support on certain tax filings and complex technical matters.
- Collaborate with external tax advisors and consultants to support tax audits and resolve any tax-related issues.
- Monitor changes in tax laws and regulations to ensure compliance and identify opportunities for tax savings or incentives.
- Provide guidance and support to internal stakeholders on tax-related matters, including assisting with tax implications of business transactions and advising on tax-efficient structures.
- Maintain effective relationships with tax authorities, proactively managing tax audits and inquiries.
- Develop and maintain tax policies, procedures, and internal controls to ensure accurate and reliable tax reporting
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or other business-related discipline with CPA or Masters of Tax
- 15 years federal tax experience in Big 4 or comparable tax experience in a large multinational corporation.
- Strong experience with ASC 740.
- Experience with transfer pricing and tax planning strategies is a plus.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with a keen attention to detail.
- Ability to effectively communicate complex tax concepts to non-tax professionals.
- Proficient in tax software and ERP systems.
- Demonstrated ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks and projects in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong business acumen, with the ability to align tax strategies with overall business objectives.
