This position in the Tax Department is for a highly motivated individual with a strong technical background to analyze and manage US tax matters. This is one of the key positions in the US tax department. Responsible for tax reporting package for tax provision, consult with operations personnel on tax matters and managed all aspects of Federal income tax compliance. Work with external auditors in their review of the tax provision and actively participate in any IRS audits. This position interacts with many levels of management, as well as external income tax auditors and agents.
Although not all-inclusive, representative responsibilities of the position are listed below:
- Tax provision - Supports quarterly/annual tax accounting package. This includes managing tax provision, review of income tax accounts (current, deferred, taxes payable, tax reserves), support of the financial statements audit and assist in any other areas of the income tax provision as necessary.
- Tax compliance - Prepare/review all work-papers and manage timely preparation of the US Federal income tax estimates and returns. Participate in R&D credit, computations of earnings and profits, Subpart F income inclusions, GILTI, FDII, BEAT, FTC's, Forms 5471, 5472, 1118, 1042 and others.
- Review alternative tax positions in order to determine the most appropriate cost-effective filing position.
- Provide tax support, including modeling and technical advice for business changes and special projects including working with cross-functional teams to deliver the execution.
- Support the Global transfer pricing compliance process to ensure the company follows tax regulations enforced by the various localities.
- Review OECD Pillar II for the U.S. and other American countries.
- Manage IRS Tax Audits - Compiling data and responses to fulfill IRS information document requests.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or other business-related discipline with CPA or Masters of Tax.
- 7-10 years federal tax experience in Big 4 or comparable tax experience in a large multinational corporation.
- Understanding of international aspects of U.S. taxation including earnings and profits, Subpart F, foreign tax credit and TCJA provisions, as well as their relevance to U.S. compliance and tax reporting.
- Proficiency in a virtual work environment, utilizing collaboration technical tools including Teams, electronic workpapers, SharePoint, etc.
- Strong research and analytical skills and attention to detail with the ability to develop and maintain complex tax models.
- Strong Excel skills as well as proficiency with Word and PowerPoint and familiarity with SAP.
- Ability to apply and adapt gained experiences/knowledge to new situations.
- Ability to work in a continuous improvement environment.
- Strong oral, written, interpersonal, technical communication and presentation skills.
