This position will be based in our Gainesville, FL office. The ideal candidate will have a degree in either urban planning with a focus on transportation or civil engineering. As part of a smaller firm, you will have the opportunity to grow and develop in many aspects and work alongside several coworkers to provide a well-rounded technical skillset.
Note: Salary will be determined based on experience and abilities.
What You’ll Do:
- Gathers data and conducts analysis for use in projects.
- Identifies planning and analysis strategies using tools such as GIS, to interpret data, assess scenarios and perform project analysis.
- Investigate and evaluate technical solutions that best meet the project needs.
- Prepares maps, exhibits, and presentation materials for projects.
- Assists in the development of conceptual planning alternatives for transportation projects.
- Drafts sections of and performs tasks related to the preparation and production of plans, studies, reports, and environmental documents for transportation projects.
- Participate in stakeholder engagement to obtain feedback and input.
What You’ll Need:
- Bachelor's degree in Urban Planning or Civil Engineering, or
- Master's degree in Urban Planning or Civil Engineering
What You’ll Bring:
- Proficient at using relevant software.
- Use Geographic Information Systems (GIS) to quantify impacts of transportation projects to natural, social, and cultural environment.
- Analyzes data to provide findings and recommendations to more experienced staff to move the project forward and determine solutions.
- Uses judgement to appropriately identify research tools and sources to conduct technical analysis and assess the findings with some oversight by more experienced staff.
- Develop reports, graphics, and presentations to substantiate findings.
