Job SummaryWe are seeking a dedicated and passionate English As A Second Language (ESL) Teacher to join our educational team. The ideal candidate will have a strong commitment to helping students from diverse backgrounds improve their English language skills for professional growth and academic success. This role involves creating engaging lesson plans, managing classroom dynamics, and assessing student progress to ensure effective learning outcomes. The ESL Teacher will work in a private school environment, providing tailored instruction that meets the needs of ESL adult learners.
Job Responsibilities
- Develop and implement comprehensive lesson plans that cater to adult learner and varying levels of English proficiency.
- Conduct engaging classroom activities that promote language acquisition and cultural understanding.
- Utilize effective classroom management techniques to create a positive learning environment that caters to the unique needs of adult learners.
- Assess students’ language abilities and monitor progress through regular standardized testing; providing constructive feedback.
- Develop course materials, including assignments, quizzes, and presentations.
- Use various teaching methods and technologies to enhance learning experiences.
- Please provide feedback and guidance to help students improve their speaking, listening, reading, and writing skills.
- Foster open communication and cultural exchange in the classroom.
- Proofread and assist students with written assignments to improve their writing skills.
- Adapt lesson plans to different proficiency levels and learning styles.
- Collaborate with administrators in scheduling, improving and maintaining high-quality ESL programs.
- Encourage students to use English in real-life situations.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Education, English, or a related field (required).
- Master’s degree (preferred).
- TESOL/TEFL/CELTA certification (required).
- Previous teaching experience, especially with adult ESL learners (preferred).
- Excellent command of the English language (native or near-native fluency).
- Communication Skills: Clear articulation and ability to explain complex concepts in simple, understandable terms.
- Proficiency in proofreading and providing feedback on student writing assignments.
- Ability to work with students from diverse cultural and linguistic backgrounds.
- Patience, creativity, and enthusiasm for teaching.
- A respectful attitude and strong interpersonal skills to foster positive relationships within the educational environment.
