What are the responsibilities and job description for the ASC Revenue Specialist position at OSMC?
Job Description:
1.Enters charges in a timely manner.
2. Posts all insurance and patient payments accurately and timely.
3. Follows up on insurance claims, resolution and/or interprets claim denials.
4. Appeals inaccurate payments or adjustments with insurance companies.
5. Makes payment arrangements for patient balances.
6. Determines when patient accounts need to go to collections and works with our collection agency.
7. Keeps track of all surgeries performed and obtains the operative notes for billing.
8. Assists staff with estimates when needed.
9. Stays current in their field through reading professional literature and attending continuing education offerings, memberships and participation in professional organizations.
10. Participates in educational activities.
11. Attends meetings as required.
12. Maintains patient confidentiality.
13. Program working knowledge of Availity, Clearinghouse, Optum, WPD, and Medicaid
14. Performs related work as required.
