Osmundson Manufacturing Co. is hiring a Quality Control Technician. The incumbent carries out the day-to-day duties of the Quality Department, including hourly product quality checks, the use and maintenance of gauges and other tools, conducting Brinell tests, and documenting all work as required. Works closely with other departments on a variety of tasks. Responsible to identify, resolve, and problem solve issues concerning the quality of parts produced in a timely and efficient manner according to processes and procedures, escalating to Manager as needed.
MAIN FUNCTIONS & RESPONSIBILITIES
- Participates in the completion of the following Quality Department elements: production quality checks, non-conforming material records (NCMR), incoming inspections, and production quality troubleshooting.
- Has ability to use all gauges or measuring equipment, including maintaining gauges in good working order and submitting for calibration as required.
- Accurately and successfully completes hourly inspections for all areas of factory.
- Responsible for other various duties including maintaining the ability to perform paint thickness and cure testing and conducting Brinell tests.
- Supports the preparation and analysis of required Quality tests, data, and other related functions.
- Responsible for accurate records and files for the Quality Department, including maintaining, safekeeping and the confidentiality of all company records, including information stored electronically.
- Successfully and accurately documents work as required in computer software packages, such as Global Shop ERP or equivalent, Word, Excel, Outlook, and other basic software.
- Maintains a solid understanding of Quality principals in accordance with company quality guidelines and customer specifications.
- Responsible to maintain working area(s) in a neat, orderly, and hazard free condition.
- Performs other duties or tasks as assigned, including keeping proprietary information confidential.
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Demonstrated general proficiency with machines and/ or tools, including their design, uses, or repair.
- Demonstrated attention to detail at the highest level, including the ability to follow, update, and inform others on processes.
- Demonstrated proficiency with Microsoft Office and computer software applications.
- Prefer experience with manufacturing specific software such as Global Shop Solutions or other Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) software.
- Demonstrated ability to effectively execute the Quality and Safety functions of a profitable Manufacturing company in the Heavy Manufacturing industry.
- Ability to lift 50 pounds on an occasional basis.
- Must be able to work prolonged periods on the factory floor with varying temperatures and moderate noise.
