What are the responsibilities and job description for the PT Aide (Outpatient Physical Therapy) position at OSPTA?
We have an immediate opening for a full-time PT Aide working at our Aspinwall location.
HOURS TO BE WORKED: 40- hours per week unless otherwise determined due to part-time employment
JOB REQUIREMENT: High school graduate or equivalent; be organized and efficient; able to multitask on a regular basis; demonstrate and maintain a positive and cheerful attitude. Have good oral and written communication skills; possess a high energy level; demonstrate a commitment to excellent patient care; understand the role and relationship of the aid to the physical therapist, physical therapist assistant, and office manager.
- PT Aide experience preferred but not required
- Strong computer and technology skills
- Excellent organizational and communication skills
- Ability to work independently and within a multidisciplinary team
SUMMARY OF DUTIES: To assist the physical therapist and physical therapist assistant in treatment of clients referred for physical therapy services by performing selected tasks, as directed by the physical therapists, preparing the clinical environment for treatment, maintaining adequate supplies used in patient care and maintaining a clean office environment.
SPECIFIC PROCEDURE RESPONSIBLITIES:
- Shall greet clients in the physical therapy area in a pleasant manner, escort them to the proper treatment area and assist them in dressing/undressing prior to and after treatment.
- Shall briefly explain the treatment to be administered to selected clients as instructed by the physical therapist so as to gain the client’s cooperation and understanding.
- Shall observe and regulate the time of treatment as specified by the physical therapist to comply with specific techniques or procedures.
- Shall perform general cleaning duties and maintenance of equipment and supplies in the prescribed manner
- To distribute equipment and supplies evenly among treatment rooms and the gym area throughout the day.
- To assist in preparation of the treatment area for the next days session including cleaning of the physical environment.
- Shall get assistance for any lifting/carrying activities over 50 pounds.
