Responsibilities will include overseeing a comprehensive high school sports medicine program, ensuring student-athletes' safety, and delivering top-notch athletic training services. This is not just an opportunity to engage with students, but also with patients at our physical therapy clinic.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Provide athletic training services for the athletic department, including attendance at scheduled team practices and home competitions as necessary
- Help with physical examinations and medical referrals for student-athletes to determine their ability to practice and compete
- Evaluate and recommend new techniques and equipment that would enhance the benefit of the athletic training program
- Provide injury assessment, prevention, treatment, and rehabilitation services to student-athletes
- Collaborate with coaches to develop and implement injury prevention programs and conditioning routines
- Maintain accurate documentation, medical records, and injury reports for all student-athletes
- Supervise and oversee assistant athletic trainers and student interns
- Must provide your own reliable transportation between campus, athletic venues, and the clinic
Clinic duties will be performed at OSR Physical Therapy as assigned by the Clinical Director onsite such as:
- Work under the direction of a licensed physical therapist
- Clean and maintain equipment, laundry, and stock of supplies
- Assist with therapeutic exercises and patient safety
Recommended Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in appropriate area of specialization and 1-2 years professional experience.
- Certified by the National Athletic Trainers’ Association Board of Certification (NATABOC)
- Familiarity with AIA governing rules
Requirements:
- State Athletic Training Licensure
- Current CPR
- Ability to work evenings and weekends as needed
