Prosthetic Artist

Job Description: A Prosthetic Artist completes custom matched prostheses designed to replace and restore upper and lower extremities. A variety of materials are used to construct custom armatures, sockets, fillings, and fingernails. Strong mechanical and sculptural competency are required to attain the fit, comfort, appearance and function of a prosthesis in accordance to Livingskin quality standards. In addition to completing new pieces, a Prosthetic Artist also repairs existing pieces. Responsibilities: Strong technical, sculptural, and mechanical inclination. Comfortable working with a variety of materials such as silicone, wire, acrylic, vinyl, fiberglass and foam. Achieve high standard of craftmanship. Able to take directions and constructive feedback. Ability to adapt techniques learned to meet customer satisfaction. Strong organizational skills. Strong critical thinking skills. Ability to work well in a team. Strong time management skills. Exercise good use of company funds and property within the set guidelines. Maintains an honest and professional attitude as the company’s representative at all times. All employees must be aware, have knowledge and shall have received general training in Quality requirements of Össur. Training takes place in the Onboarding process and in New Employee Orientation. More specific Quality training is job specific. All training related to the quality management system is done in accordance to the Training Management Process (QM1681). Contributes to a safe working environment by maintaining own workspace and reporting any potential hazards. Qualifications: Technical degree, college degree or equivalent experience required. Knowledge of basic human anatomy preferred. Previous experience in prosthetics, 3D special effects, or skilled trades preferred. Ability to work hands on to find solutions to routine problems. The US base salary range for this full-time position is $17.53 - $23.01 benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. The range displayed on each job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target for new hire salaries. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
