The Senior Project Manager, EPMO provides strategic oversight for managing complex IT and business projects, ensuring successful execution across multiple initiatives. This role includes resource allocation, scheduling, budgeting, and risk mitigation. It requires close collaboration with project teams, leadership, customers, and vendors to address business challenges and develop solutions. The position involves guiding cross-functional teams, managing contractors or vendor relationships, and ensuring compliance with governance and best practices.
Responsibilities
- Lead large-scale IT and business projects, including multiple projects within a program or related tracks.
- Manage all project phases, ensuring compliance with governance processes and best practices.
- Develop and oversee project charters, business cases, technical and architecture specifications, and project plans.
- Manage project constraints, including budgets, resources, schedules, and quality, to achieve deliverables and implement effective business solutions.
- Maintain comprehensive project documentation and obtain necessary approvals at each phase.
- Identify, manage, and mitigate risks while resolving project issues proactively.
- Conduct regular meetings to track progress and provide updates to key stakeholders and senior management.
- Ensure solutions align with standard architecture considerations, including security, database structures, and performance levels.
- Perform business and systems analysis as needed.
- Analyze large data sets to generate insights that improve project delivery and efficiency.
- Manage vendor selection, negotiations, and relationships.
- Develop and deliver presentations to stakeholders and executives.
- Foster strong internal partnerships to increase project value and return on investment (ROI).
- Train and mentor EPMO team members and other project contributors.
- Ensure compliance with company policies, industry regulations, and IT governance processes.
- Perform other duties as assigned by management.
Qualifications
- Bachelor s degree or equivalent experience.
- 7 years of dedicated project management experience, including full lifecycle project management.
- PMP Certification or demonstrated equivalent expertise.
- Smartsheet experience.
Preferred Experience
- Lean or Six Sigma certification.
- Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments; Certified Scrum Master (CSM) preferred.
- Familiarity with project management and collaboration tools such as Jira, Confluence, and Smartsheet.
Skills & Abilities
- Strong organizational and multitasking skills in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent verbal, written, and presentation skills, with the ability to communicate at all levels.
- Ability to analyze and interpret data for strategic decision-making.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio, Project).
