Job Summary:
The Accountant at Osteen's Load and Go will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of the company's financial record-keeping, including accounts receivable and payable, profit and loss statements, account reconciliations, monthly billing, and payroll processing. The Accountant will ensure that financial records are accurate, up-to-date, and professionally maintained, providing key reports to management and assisting in the overall financial management of the company.
Key Responsibilities:
- Accounts Receivable & Payable:
- Process and manage accounts receivable, ensuring accurate billing and timely collection of payments.
- Process accounts payable, ensuring timely and accurate payment of bills and expenses.
- Reconcile invoices with contracts and purchase orders to ensure proper billing.
- Follow up with customers on overdue payments and assist in managing payment disputes.
- Payroll Processing:
- Process payroll on a weekly basis, ensuring accurate calculations of wages, deductions, and overtime.
- Ensure timely and accurate submission of payroll taxes and deductions.
- Maintain records of payroll, including employee benefits, vacation, sick time, and other deductions.
- Address employee payroll inquiries and ensure any payroll discrepancies are resolved quickly.
- Financial Reporting & Record-Keeping:
- Prepare and maintain accurate profit and loss statements on a regular basis.
- Reconcile bank accounts and other financial accounts to ensure accuracy.
- Maintain accurate records of all financial transactions and ensure compliance with accounting principles.
- Prepare and submit financial reports to management on a monthly and quarterly basis.
- QuickBooks Management:
- Utilize QuickBooks to record transactions, manage financial data, and generate reports.
- Ensure the proper entry of transactions into QuickBooks for accurate financial tracking.
- Assist with QuickBooks troubleshooting and resolving any issues that arise with the software.
- Monthly Bill Payments & Budgeting:
- Monitor and pay monthly bills on time, ensuring timely payments to vendors and suppliers.
- Assist in preparing budgets, monitoring financial performance, and making recommendations to improve profitability.
- Tax and Compliance Support:
- Assist with the preparation of tax filings, ensuring proper documentation and timely submissions.
- Maintain compliance with financial regulations and standards.
- Collaboration and Communication:
- Work closely with the Office Manager and other departments to ensure seamless financial operations.
- Communicate with vendors, clients, and management regarding financial matters, payments, and billing inquiries.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred.
- Proven experience as an accountant, bookkeeper, or in a similar role.
- Strong experience using QuickBooks or similar accounting software.
- Knowledge of accounts payable and receivable processes, payroll processing, financial reporting, and account reconciliation.
- Strong understanding of profit and loss statements, budgeting, and financial analysis.
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality and professionalism.
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks and deadlines effectively.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel.
