Skills Required
- Strong knowledge of food safety practices and procedures.
- Understanding of fine dining techniques. OLB is not a traditional fine dining restaurant but we aim to serve at the highest level of professionalism in the hospitality field.
- POS and iPad knowledge
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills
- Previous experience in the food industry, catering, or restaurant setting is preferred
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team
- Flexibility to adapt to changing menus and dietary requirements
Duties
- Learn and memorize entire food, wine, and cocktail menu
- Greeting guests and seating them warmly and quickly
- Taking reservations over the phone and in person
- Managing floor plan to ensure maximum seating possibilities
- Taking togo orders and entering them into the POS system
- Entering 3rd party takeout orders
- Running food in a proper fashion
- Assisting fellow hospitality members in any and all capacity (Osteria La Buca is a pooled house and in such every hospitality member works as a team unit.)
- Maintaining the host stand and ensuring proper cleanliness at all times.
- Bussing and resetting tables.
- Organizing and stocking host stand
- Daily, weekly, and monthly scheduled sidework
- Opening and closing of dining room
- Bi-yearly employee evaluations
- Quarterly brush up testing
