Location: Albany, NY

Position Overview: Ostroff Associates is seeking an energetic, strategic thinker with a passion for advocacy and client management. As Vice President, you will engage directly with clients, support complex projects by directly connecting with key stakeholders in the Executive and Legislative branches of government as a Lobbyist.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and execute strategic plans, track progress, and ensure effective strategy implementation on behalf of our clients.
- Communicate consistently with clients, offering updates both verbally and in writing.
- Manage follow-up action emails post-meetings with clients and external stakeholders.
- Manage internal and external contacts to ensure client outreach success.
- Distribute relevant news, updates, and opportunities to clients daily.
- Leverage contacts with elected officials, senior staff, and community stakeholders to advance clients goals.
- Track, identify, and develop key policy initiatives and legislation on behalf of clients.
- Foster relationships with key stakeholders including but not limited to elected officials, legislative staff, executive agency staff, other advocacy groups, etc.
- Stay up-to-date with relevant current events, state and national news, and other local issues on behalf of clients.
Required Knowledge and Skills:
- Strong organizational skills with a detail-oriented approach.
- Ability to manage multiple projects in a high-pressure, deadline-driven environment.
- Exceptional communication skills, both oral and written.
- Proactive attitude with a commitment to continuous improvement and personal responsibility.
- Deep understanding of New York State’s political landscape and a keen interest in state government.
- Strong existing network with New York State government officials and civic leaders.
- Ability to work as a part of a team approach.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree required; advanced degree is a plus.
- Minimum of five years of experience in government relations, state government, political campaigns, or advocacy.
- High attention to detail and ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
- Willingness to attend evening and occasional weekend events.
Compensation: $100,000 – $125,000 per year commensurate with experience, plus a generous benefits package, including 100% employer-paid health insurance and a 401(k) match.
