DEPARTMENT PURPOSE: We partner to strengthen donor confidence and inspire loyalty through intentional engagement, stewardship, and recognition that celebrate the impact of donor generosity on the advancement of OSU.
POSITION PRIMARY PURPOSE: The Oklahoma State University Foundation seeks an organized, self-motivated, undergraduate student with a high level of professionalism to assist with donor relations initiatives. The intern in this position will have a hand in the development of creating personalized engagement and stewardship strategies for donors from the ground up.
This position will require working 20-25 hours per week. Work schedule is flexible but must be between the hours of 8 – 5, Monday through Friday. Looking for position to be filled through spring 2026 semester with opportunity to continue through summer and beyond.
KEY AREAS OF FOCUS:
- Assist the Stewardship Manager with executing components related to the management of Presidential stewardship.
- Assist in writing, proofreading and tracking acknowledgments, donor correspondence, stewardship emails and impact reports.
- Assist the Donor Engagement staff by providing administrative support to individual and group projects designed to enhance the donor engagement experience.
- Assist with the monthly tracking of our leadership gifts donor milestones, i.e. birthdays, anniversaries, etc.
- Assist with the research and development of donor engagement projects such as preparing information for proactive communication to share with donors regarding their interests on campus.
- Report and track stewardship and engagement activity progress through the use of contact reports, stewardship tasks and other planning tools to ensure consistent and effective communication.
- Coordinate interdepartmental stewardship projects and correspond with other departments as necessary.
- Support loyalty, lifetime, and giving society stewardship programs.
- Organize and prep stewardship materials for events and mailings.
- Assist with process and procedure documentation.
- Assist the larger Donor Relations team as applicable.
JOB COMPETENCIES AND EXPERIENCE:
Education & Certifications-
- Oklahoma State University student in good standing with the university. Pursuing a degree in strategic communications, marketing, journalism, nonprofit management, business or related fields preferred, but not required.
Experience-
- Background in nonprofits, communications or marketing preferred but not required.
- Experience in writing preferred, but not required

- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Strong analytical, organizational and execution skills
- Ability to multi-task and meet deadlines with little supervision
- Knowledge of correct English usage, spelling, grammar, etc.; modern office methods and procedures; and equipment and filing systems
- Ability to interact and collaborate with fellow team members, campus partners and OSU students
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office products
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: Must use a computer terminal and view a computer screen for extended periods of time. Must talk in person or by phone (frequently and sometimes for extended periods) to people on campus and across the country. Must constantly use visual acuity to check printed and designed materials of various types. Must be able to navigate within the OSU Foundation. Typical office working conditions.
