Director of Operations – Short-Term Rental Management
Location: Charleston, SC (Hybrid/Remote Flexibility)

A rapidly growing short-term rental management company is seeking a Director of Operations to oversee and optimize daily operations across a growing portfolio of vacation rental properties. This role is pivotal in ensuring seamless property management, maximizing efficiency, and delivering an outstanding experience for both guests and property owners.
The ideal candidate is a strategic thinker with a hands-on approach, experienced in managing teams, streamlining workflows, and scaling operations in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Operational Leadership: Oversee all aspects of short-term rental operations, including guest communication, cleaning, maintenance, and vendor coordination.
- Team Management: Build, lead, and support a growing team, including virtual assistants, maintenance personnel, and local service providers.
- Guest & Owner Experience: Implement and improve processes to ensure an exceptional guest experience while maintaining strong relationships with property owners.
- Process Optimization: Identify inefficiencies and develop systems to improve workflows, reduce costs, and maintain high service standards.
- Financial Oversight: Monitor operational expenses, manage budgets, and track financial performance.
- Technology & Automation: Utilize property management software and automation tools to streamline operations and improve guest communication.
- Crisis Management: Proactively handle urgent guest issues, property incidents, and escalations with professionalism and efficiency.
Qualifications & Skills:
- Management experience, hospitality, or property operations.
- Strong leadership and team management skills, with experience scaling operations.
- Excellent problem-solving abilities and ability to thrive under pressure.
- Proficiency in property management software (Guesty, Hospitable, Airbnb, VRBO, or similar).
- Financial acumen with experience managing budgets and optimizing expenses.
- Self-motivated, proactive, and solution-oriented mindset.
- Knowledge of Charleston’s short-term rental market is a plus but not required.
