Duties
- Develop and implement comprehensive lesson plans that promote bilingualism and biliteracy among students.
- Create a culturally responsive classroom environment that values diversity and encourages student participation.
- Assess student progress regularly and adjust instructional strategies to meet individual learning needs.
- Collaborate with fellow educators, parents, and community members to support student learning and development.
- Facilitate language acquisition through interactive activities, storytelling, and hands-on learning experiences.
- Provide support for students' social-emotional development, fostering a positive classroom culture.
- Participate in professional development opportunities to enhance teaching practices related to dual language education.
Qualifications
- A Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university is required; a Master’s degree in Education or a related field is preferred.
- Valid teaching certification or license in the relevant subject area.
- Experience working with dual language learners or in bilingual education settings is highly desirable.
- Strong understanding of second language acquisition theories and effective instructional strategies for diverse learners.
- Excellent communication skills in both English and the target language (Spanish preferred).
- Ability to work collaboratively with colleagues, families, and community stakeholders to support student success.
