What are the responsibilities and job description for the Gymnastics Instructor position at Oswegoland Park District?
JOB OVERVIEW
This year round position is responsible for the organization and implementation of day-to-day activities in the gymnastics program at our Boulder Point Facility located in Montgomery, IL.
EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE & TRAINING
- Age 16 years and up.
- Previous gymnastics experience preferred, either as a coach or a gymnast.
- Preference will be given to candidates with a bachelor’s degree in education, youth services, recreation or working toward a degree in these areas.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES
- Comprehension of gymnastics skills and techniques.
- An understanding of the principles of customer service.
- Ability to organize and lead a variety of gymnastics programs.
- Ability to take instruction from coordinators, upper level coach staff and implement changes or requests.
- Ability to tactfully discuss student’s behavior, both positive and negative, with the student and parents.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Must obtain and maintain CPR, AED, First Aid, and DCFS Certifications.
- Understand and exhibit behavior consistent with stated values of the district.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
- Teach gymnastics program.
- Assist in the planning and execution of open gyms, and special events.
- Assist in marketing and promoting the gymnastics program.
- Serve in a professional and courteous manner with the highest regard to the customer.
- Attend staff meetings and trainings.
- Other duties as assigned by your coordinator and/or supervisor.
