Job Overview:
Under the direction of the Director of Parks & Planning, the Parks & Planning Assistant will assist the Parks & Planning staff with administrative and clerical expertise.
Education, Experience, & Training:
- High school graduate with 3 years experience in an office administration
- Professional customer service skills
- First Aid, CPR, and AED certified within 3 months of hire
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
- Manages all clerical functions of the Parks & Planning Department
- Facilitates PO module bill payment through involvement with Finance department
- Collects critical data in preparation for Request for Proposals (RFPs) and grant funding
- Assists with the maintenance of contracts
- Reconcile monthly P card activity for the department
- Produces accurate and timely forms and information when requested by public or district staff
- Other duties as assigned by supervisor
Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities:
- Effective communication skills, both verbal and written
- Detailed oriented and accurate
- Ability to work independently or as part of a team
- Ability to operate office machinery and computers
- Working knowledge of Microsoft 365
- Excellent typing and clerical skills
- Working knowledge of recreational and operational software within 6 months of being hired
- Understand and exhibit behavior consistent with stated values of the District
Physical Demands:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. The employee frequently is required to stand: walk; and use hands to finger, handle or feel. The employee is occasionally required to sit; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; and stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 30 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus. Hours:
40 hours per week, Monday through Friday 8:00a.m. to 4:30p.m. Weekend and evening hours required based on the Districts operations schedule.

$44,750-$46,000 DOE
