What are the responsibilities and job description for the Diesel Shop Mechanic position at OTC Fleet Services?
Duties:
Perform scheduled preventative maintenance on light to heavy-duty vehicles, trucks & equipment shop or on-site.
Perform DOT/State Inspections and follow up repairs on light to heavy-duty vehicles, trucks & equipment.
Diagnose and repair trucks and equipment including but not limited to: engine, transmission, chassis and electrical.
Inspect, test and listen to defective equipment to diagnose malfunctions, using instruments such as computers and gauges.
Road test vehicles to diagnose malfunctions and ensure they are working properly.
Navigate basic computer skills and scan tool equipment.
Work well with others and exhibit good communication skills.
Self-manage assigned tasks and keep workspace clean.
Requirements:
Valid CDL License
Have a set of tools necessary to perform required job duties
Minimum of 3 years of experience as Diesel Technician on medium to heavy-duty vehicle repair or equivalent combination of technical education/certifications/skill/experiences
