Job Title: Application Engineer
We are seeking an experienced Application Engineer to join our team at OTC Industrial Technologies in Theodore, AL.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Provide technical support to customers and manage customer interactions
- Assist engineers with technical data and specification development
- Review public bid projects to ensure equipment meets required specifications
- Manage email communications and send quotes promptly
- Develop a deep understanding of various product lines and manufacturers
- Select pumps and rotating equipment to meet customer needs
- Evaluate potential value engineering cost savings
- Review project specifications, drawings, and attend pre-bid meetings
- Create proposal letters for bid and negotiated projects
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent combination of education and relevant experience
- 5 years of engineering or application work in rotating equipment preferred
- Experience with mechanical seals a bonus but not required
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints and/or engineering design drawings
- Proficient in using a computer and Microsoft Office
- Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks and changing priorities as necessary
- Ability to work under time pressure and adapt to changing requirements with a positive attitude
