About this role
JCI Industries is looking for an Electric Motor Winder to join our team in Lee's Summit, MO!
As an Electric Motor Winder you will be responsible for troubleshooting, inspecting, repairing, reconditioning, rewinding, and testing electrical equipment. You will disassemble and inspect the motors, rewind AC/DC motors/generators, and then reassemble the motor and AC/DC generators. What You'll Do:
· Rewind medium and low voltage electric motors, stators and armatures
· Tear down equipment utilizing manufacturer's recommendations and industry best practices using necessary tools Inspect equipment and parts for damage, diagnose possible reason(s) for failure
· Provide information on parts/work required for repair
· Provide feedback to assist in accurate costing and work scope Cleaning, staging, and checking of parts for accuracy.
What You'll Need:
· High School Diploma or GED with 3-5 years' experience needed
· Knowledge of rotating machine systems, generators, electric motors, or similar mechanical equipment maintenance and repair
· Must be capable of using and reading precision measuring devices, such as micrometers and calipers
· Must be able to lift up to 75 pounds frequently
· Must have a valid driver's license and have a good driving record
· Must be capable of wearing personal protection equipment, including a respirator
· Must be capable of working outdoors and possibly in inclement weather
