The Product Specialist will support the DIRECTAIR(R) sales team in North America. Product Specialist plays a vital role in the success of the organization. The primary duties of this position involve working with procurement, maintenance, and engineering personnel at existing accounts as well as new prospective accounts. Individuals in this position will provide sales outreach to prospective buyers, while working closely with the sales team. Travel is required, typically within the United States for tradeshows and customer visits as needed.

What You'll Do:

Account Generation/Sales Growth:

  • Identify and establish contact with potential customers
  • Follow up on referrals and new leads
  • Identify business opportunities and threats
  • Schedule/Conduct seminars/lunch and learns with contractors/engineering firms
  • Monitor and report on competitor activities to company colleagues and management
  • Regularly improve product knowledge by attending company and vendor sponsored training programs
  • Attend trade shows to engage with prospective clients

Account Management:

  • Maintain established customer relationships through regular business reviews
  • Maintain Company's Customer Relationship Management database with current information
  • Identify opportunities to expand OTC product base within every customer account
  • Review customer operations for improving business process opportunities

Reporting:

  • CRM upkeep on opportunities and leads
  • Prepare required sales reports for management
  • Complete expense reports in a timely fashion

Position Details:

  • Position will require <25% overnight travel

  • Effective time management, organization, and multi-tasking skills
  • Build, manage, and develop relationships with new and existing customers
  • Develop and maintain a sales opportunity funnel
  • Provide a world-class customer experience

What You'll Need:

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, sales or marketing related field or 3-5 years' experience in sales
  • Technical sales experience preferred, but not required
  • Demonstrated negotiation and conflict management skills
  • Strong communications skills
  • Strong experience in customer complaint resolution
  • Strong background in industrial compressed air systems
  • Prior engineering and/or sales experience a plus
