Elementary (K-6) Summer School Administrator
Under the direction of the Elementary Curriculum Director, supervises the elementary summer school program for KCSD, providing appropriate planning, coordination, and supervision.
ESSENTIAL JOB RESPONSIBILITIES (Not Necessarily Limited To):
- Responsible for planning, coordinating and administering the summer school program, preparing appropriate reports and providing support for the program and staff.
- Develops and implements effective publicity and information regarding the summer school program.
- Assists in the hiring of the summer school staff.
- Provides effective support to summer school staff.
- Identifies students eligible for participation in the summer school program.
- Implements and monitors the effectiveness of summer school curriculum.
- Implements an effective and appropriate record keeping summer school attendance program.
- Prepares appropriate reports concerning students’ progress and summer school program.
- Provides classroom equipment, supplies, and textbooks for all appropriate staff.
- Maintains accurate records of disciplinary referrals and actions taken relating to students.
- Holds conferences with parents and staff in regards to student behavior, when necessary.
- Coordinates food program with Food Service Manager.
- Coordinates with Transportation Supervisor in a timely and efficient manner to ensure appropriate student transportation services.
- Monitors expenses as they relate to the summer school program.
- May be assigned other duties and responsibilities as required.
REQUIREMENTS:
Current KCSD licensed employee
Bachelor's Degree or higher
Administrator's license- Preference will be given to KCSD Teachers with Administrative Credentials.
LENGTH OF WORK:
20 days beyond current contract =16 days summer school student days, 5 days planning/closing summer programs
Additional responsibilities and qualifications may be added for a specific position by the supervisor.
Physical ability to adhere to OSHA and district safety regulations. Work within the district’s communicable disease control plan (blood borne pathogens) and be aware of the existence and potential exposure to hazardous chemicals as identified on the SDS sheets. Responsibilities include student safety and security.
This is a temporary position.
