What are the responsibilities and job description for the Economy Designer position at OtherSide Entertainment?
The Opportunity
A good game economy balances player rewards, retention and most importantly, fun! Do you have experience standing up game economies and want to dig deep into AA projects under the guidance of industry legends and a game that aims to push the boundaries of existing immersive sims? Does the idea of modeling different player models, reward schemes and collaborating with game designers sound fun?
We are looking for an Economy Designer who can provide forward-looking design for our PC & Console multiplayer games including post-launch content. Ideally, this will transition into game operations as the audience progresses from small tests to larger betas and into live ops. You’ll have plenty of opportunities to work with other development teams within OSE as well.
Experience running a live game from the ground up - from concept through development including launch and beyond - is essential. This is an ideal role for someone who has extensive live ops and/or free-to-play game design experience who wants to return or migrate to a more Premium DLC product category, where we have a deep focus on fun and player experience over heavy monetization of content.
Our first game, Thick as Thieves (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GZqAHmChxIE) has recently been announced to the public at The Game Awards with much anticipation. You’ll get to work closely on this and other games that we have in the pipeline.

- Develop effective and ethical strategies for increasing revenue and other metrics in conjunction with player value over time.
Qualifications
3 years of experience in monetization design, economy design, and / or product management.- Zero to one experience in standing up economies for a live audience - from core development and tools to monitoring and management. This is a hard requirement and something we will look for specifically in your resume.
- Hands-on expert with spreadsheets, formulas, and metrics. Someone who can tell stories from data.
- Strong Data Analytics experience, the ability to organize data using tools like SQL and Tableau to present clear situational analysis.

- Experience in a distributed team environment.
- Experience supporting external partners or contractors.
