The Otis Service Center Sheet Metal Shop is looking for a Sheet Metal Worker to join our team. The shift is from 06:00 AM- 3:00 PM.
On a typical day you will:
Duties include setting up and operating multiple HASS mills as well as minor powder coating. The Sheet Metal Shop is responsible for engraving, beveling, and producing lower-level parts for mechanical assemblies. The candidate must be a team player committed to continuous improvement and can work in a fast-paced environment. Adhere to assigned work schedule, including start time and annual inventory. Adhere to Otis’ Absolutes: Safety, Ethics, and Quality.
What you will need to be successful:
Education
- The successful candidate should have a High School diploma or equivalent. A certificate from a trade school is preferred.
Experience/Qualifications
- Candidate should have knowledge and understanding of basic machining skills.
- The individual should possess a positive attitude and the ability to work independently.
- Ability to independently set up machines for production use.
- Ability to read and interpret programs, prints, and setup sheets.
- Must understand cutting speed and feed rates for tooling and materials.
- Must be able to read and use a variety of inspection tools.
- Perform preventative maintenance on machines
- Good interpersonal, organizational, verbal, and written communication skills. Able to accommodate changes in production and work schedules in order to meet deadlines
- Ability to adhere to safety and quality standards.
- Minimum of 1- 2 years’ operating a CNC mill preferred, and welding experience
Physical Requirements
- Must be able to wear the required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)
- Walking, balancing, climbing, standing, twisting/turning, bending/stooping, crawling, crouching, kneeling/squatting, sitting, reaching above shoulder height, reaching forward, lifting (maximum 50 pounds), carrying, pushing/pulling, handling, feeling, digital dexterity, wrist flexion/extension, power grip, working speed, talking, hearing, seeing (with color vision) depth perception.
- If an item weighs more than 50 lbs., the employee must ask for assistance lifting and/or using the appropriate crane, forklift, or other lifting devices and/or techniques.
