Job Summary
We are seeking a positive, friendly Front Desk / Night Auditor to provide exceptional service to our hotel guests. The Front Desk / Night Auditor will assist guests with the check-in and check-out processes, issue room keys, and process payments. Responsibilities also include , answering guest inquiries, and completing paperwork promptly and accurately. The Front Desk / Night Auditor must possess excellent communication skills and the ability to stay positive even when faced with challenging situations. Your goal is to provide guests with an exceptional customer service experience. A hotel night auditor is responsible for managing the front desk during the overnight hours, primarily focusing on checking in guests, handling guest inquiries, balancing daily financial transactions, verifying accounting records, and ensuring all end-of-day tasks are completed accurately, often including reconciling cash drawers and generating reports for management; essentially acting as both a front desk agent and an accountant during the night shift. The hours for this position are 11pm to 7am Tuesday to Saturday.
Key responsibilities of a hotel night auditor :
Financial auditing :
Review and balance daily revenue reports, including room charges, food and beverage sales, and other transactions.
Cash handling :
Reconcile cash drawers, process credit card payments, and ensure accurate cash transactions.
Reservation management :
Take and manage guest reservations, including room upgrades and special requests.
Guest service :
Respond to guest inquiries, complaints, and concerns throughout the night.
Reporting :
Generate end-of-day reports summarizing financial activity, guest occupancy, and other relevant data.
Security monitoring :
Maintain awareness of hotel security protocols and respond to any incidents that occur during the night shift.
Communication with other departments :
Coordinate with housekeeping and maintenance to address guest needs.
System operation :
Utilize property management systems to record guest information, post charges, and generate reports.
Skills required for a hotel night auditor :
