Job Role:
The Instrumentation Commissioning Technician is responsible for executing the Instrumentation pre-commissioning, commissioning and start-up activities.
Area of Focus:
Instrument Technicians will be responsible for performing the commissioning activities and documentation pertaining to the following controls:
- Compressor stations; oil or gas measurement facilities;
- Pump stations, oil terminal facilities;
- Safety systems operated by PLC, RTU, DCS etc.;
- Participate in HAZOP, JHA, FLRA;
- Attend safety meetings as required;
- Work with 475 field communicators, fluke calibration equipment and standard communication protocols (HART, Field Bus etc.);
- Participate in Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT);
- Working effectively in a team environment to assure that the commissioning work integrates well in the overall project;
- Review the drawings and procedures prior to starting the assigned work task;
- When requested or instructed work with vendors and others with the work scope for the day;
- Capable of initial start-up and program load for control system;
- Capable of leading point-to-point testing of control system I/O from end device through PLC/DCS and HMI;
- Troubleshooting and making recommendation on SCADA and HMI addressing issues;
- Follow all safety procedures as per the commissioning procedures.
Qualifications;
- NCCER or Technical training; must be competent in instrumentation discipline
- 5-8 years experience;
