In Otsuka's evolved customer engagement model, a Health Science Advisor (HSA) will engage HCPs through various in-person, virtual and digital tools, offering expanded expertise regarding products and the approved conditions they treat.
The LTC Health Science Advisor will report directly to the respective Ecosystem Lead, coordinating with other local HSAs and cross-functional colleagues in Medical Affairs (MSLs) and Market Access (RAMs) under appropriate guardrails. You will serve as the primary point of contact for long-term care accounts and healthcare providers (HCPs). Additionally, you'll coordinate speaker programs, organize local provider groups for discussions, and share opportunities and feedback with the ecosystem lead. This includes providing valuable local market insights to help shape local strategy and team objectives.

Key Responsibilities:
- Promoting Otsuka pharmaceutical products to long-term care facilities and targeted healthcare providers (HCPs).
- Sharing on-label information that aligns with the product label, including handling complex on-label details in accordance with approved materials.
- Discussing product access, such as local market payor coverage, co-pay, prior authorization, formulary placement, and availability expectations.
- Providing established guidance on patient care, including system protocols, standard of care guidelines, discharge protocols, and published expert opinions.
- Engaging customers personally through a range of virtual or digital tools.
Minimum Qualifications
- 2 years pharmaceutical or medical device sales experience
- Must reside within commutable distance of the assigned sales territory
- May require minimal overnight travel
Preferred Skills:
- Previous industry experience in commercial life sciences (pharma or biotechnology) or related, industry engaging with healthcare ecosystem stakeholders (e.g., payers, health systems)
- 4 or more years' experience working in a sales role with HCPs, representing multiple products and navigating complex healthcare systems
- Ability to build strong business relationships with healthcare providers, such as doctors, nurses, pharmacists, and key long-term care stakeholders
