What are the responsibilities and job description for the Agricultural Worker position at Ottawa Cooperative Association?
The Ottawa Coop is a full-service agricultural organization supporting the local farmer's operations which includes but not limited to: Feed, Fertilizer, Chemicals, Fuel, Grain, and Seed. We are looking for employees that are passionate about helping farmers feed the world. Full time positions with full benefits including two forms of retirement, health insurance, paid time-off. Work schedule is normally 8-5 M-F with weekends and expanded hours during peak times of the year with overtime opportunities. Our customers are farmers that have to work when the weather allows, so expanded hours to accommodate the farmers operation is normal during peak times of the year.
Responsibilities
- Operate farm machinery and equipment efficiently and safely.
- Supervise and train other agricultural workers as needed.
- Conduct equipment repairs and welding tasks when necessary.
- Utilize forklifts for moving materials.
Qualifications
- Farming and agriculture experience
- Proficiency in operating farm machinery
- Supervising experience in agricultural settings
- Basic mechanical knowledge
- Ability to perform heavy lifting tasks
- Familiarity with equipment repair and maintenance
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $15.00 - $20.00 per hour
