Summary
As the Dietary Director, you will oversee the dietary department, ensuring the delivery of high-quality nutritional care to residents. Reporting to the senior management team, you will leverage your expertise in dietetics, health coaching, and budgeting to develop effective care plans. Qualifications:
Responsible for reviewing, compiling and reporting information on resident weights. Trends resident likes and dislikes. Monitors resident food acceptance. Suggests menu selections to incorporate preferences. Makes menu changes on resident menus accordingly. Coordinates diet information with Dietary Dept; is familiar with the system of diet records.
Ensures resident needs are met; contact physician or therapist with recommendations or clarification of orders.
Assesses need for supplementary feedings/tube feedings in the absence of the Registered Dietician; calculations are accurate. When recommending nutritional supplements, selects the most cost effective choice and routinely reevaluates effectiveness for resident prior to initiating a change.
Prepares/Inputs facility orders to food suppliers.
Completes all charting and chart reviews
Ensures residents’ charts contain accurate and up-to-date documentation.
Participates in resident Care Conferences.
Communicates regularly with Interdisciplinary Team as needed.
Responsible for coordination of services with other departments. Knowledgeable in applicable Riverview, County, State and Federal food service regulations and policies.
Oversees all food service workers & cooks. Interviews applicants for open positions.
Participates in labor/management meetings/negotiations.
Responsible for preparing and presenting performance evaluations for Food & Nutrition Manager and all food service workers and cooks.
Responsible for Dietary Dept staff documentation and discipline.
Analyzes & controls food /operating costs/budgets. Prepare monthly budget reports to aid in evaluation of operational efficiency. Initiates payment of bills promptly.
Oversees the overall meal delivery system.
Responsible for safety of dietary staff.
Responsible for all survey and inspections within the department. Creates and implements plan of action for any deficiencies.
Plan and conduct all food service departmental meetings and in-services.
Maintenance and upkeep of departmental policy and procedures.
