What are the responsibilities and job description for the Dispatcher - Transit position at Ottawa County?
The Ottawa County Transportation Agency (OCTA) is currently seeking a DISPATCHER.
SCHEDULE: Full-time, 40 hours Monday - Friday, may have some driving responsibilities
SALARY RANGE: $15.00/hr
JOB SUMMARY:
Coordinate the delivery of scheduled trips in a demand-response public transit system. Receive customer calls for trip reservations and cancellations. Maintain dispatch records including trip reservations, cancellations, no-shows and same-day add-ons. Advise drivers of scheduling changes. Maintain records of trip denials, complaints, and customer feedback. Monitor daily reports of drivers and review manifests for optimum scheduling. May be required to drive public transit vehicles.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- Associates Degree in Business or related field preferred but not required
- Call center experience preferred.
- Experience working in office environment and/or in customer service.
- Computer knowledge in scheduling software preferred and/or Microsoft Office
- Valid Ohio driver license and be able to drive under county guidelines.
- Safe driving record.
- Clear Criminal Background Investigation (BCI)
- Must be able to pass an ODOT Physical
- Negative Drug/Alcohol Tests Note: while recreational marijuana may be legal in the state of Ohio, the county has elected to prohibit employees or applicants from using or testing positive for marijuana or THC. Any positive drug test will result in a withdrawal of the conditional offer of employment.
May be scheduled some evenings and weekends.
