The Ottawa Dental Laboratory, founded in 1937, is a family owned and operated business located in Ottawa, IL, and is seeking candidates for the position of Fixed Technical Manager at our Ottawa location.
Job Responsibilities:
The key objectives of the Fixed Technical Manager are as follows:
- Direct and ensure that all quality, production and material control activities meet the desired customer quality and ODL requirements
- Ensure quality control of cases for on-time delivery, quality, and consistency of work
- Oversee or involved with case planning and follow through with customer communications
- Maintain proactive and attentive follow-ups with customers to ensure cases progress smoothly and stay on schedule during the fabrication process
- Be a liaison between the laboratory and customers to clarify case requirements and provide technical solutions to resolve customer problems, complaints and inquiries about ODL products and services
- Facilitate customer interaction tracking via CRM and update CRM as needed for improved customer care follow-through
- Oversee, mentor and train employees using ODL standard operating procedures to maintain high technical proficiency and performance. Provide continuous, ongoing performance feedback to employees.
- Monitor observance of company rules, policies and practices and deal with disciplinary problems in a fair consistent manner
- Create an environment that promotes communication, results, teamwork and quality
- Establish and maintain high standards of safety and housekeeping for a safe working environment
- Perform hands-on work to support department needs
- Meet with COO on a regular basis to create, monitor and calculate personal and company goals
- Grow skills through continuing education

Qualifications:
- Dental industry experience, terminology, lab/office interactions
- A strong background and experience in customer relations; relationship development
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills
- Detail-oriented
- Ability to analyze and solve problems
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Tools and other supporting software tools
- Willingness and eagerness to learn
- Flexible to take on special projects as needed
- Positive attitude and team player
Schedule: 7:30am to 4:00pm, Monday through Friday
