Schedule: Monday-Friday. 8.0 hours per day
Position Summary:
Under the supervision of the Occupational Therapist and the Director of Special Education, the COTA provides educationally related occupational therapy services to students aged 3 to 21 years with a variety of intellectual, emotional, and/or physical disabilities that impair their ability to benefit from their Individualized Education Plan.
Additional Information:
- Valid Occupational Therapy Assistant licensure with the Kansas State Board of Healing Arts.
- Provides individual and group therapy activities to assist with meeting the student’s goals and objectives.
- Assists with collecting data on therapy goals and objectives.
- Adapts school and classroom environment, tools, and materials under the supervision of the occupational therapist to improve student’s functioning and facilitate student’s access to curricular and instructional activities.
- Attends meetings, workshops, and conferences to receive and/or convey information related to job functions.
- Communicates with students, parents/guardians, staff, and community as directed by OT.
USD290 conducts background screenings and TB tests on all potential candidates.
