Position Summary:
Under the direction of the Building Principal, the Industrial Arts Teacher will provide guidance and instructional experiences that are academically and developmentally appropriate for each student assigned to that classroom. The Automotive Mechanics Teacher is responsible for developing a student’s interests in industrial arts by using skills and techniques that is consistent with school guidelines. The goal of this position is to develop industrial arts understandings and to discover and to expand the talents of students in the field of industrial arts.
KPERS participation is mandatory for this position.
Additional Information:
· Bachelor’s degree or higher with current Kansas Teaching license with high school industrial arts endorsement is required.
· Establish and enforce rules for behavior and procedures for maintaining order among the students for whom they are responsible.
· Establish clear objectives for all lessons, units, and projects, and communicate those objectives to students.
· Communicate clear objectives to students for all lessons, units, and projects.
· Assess the progress of students on a regular basis, provide progress reports as required and communicate with parents regularly.
USD290 conducts background screenings and TB tests on all potential candidates.
