What are the responsibilities and job description for the Lead (VPK) Teacher position at Otter Learning?

The Pre-K Teacher is responsible for the supervision and care of a class of children between the ages of 4 and 5 years old in accord with the goals and curriculum plan of Otter Learning. The principal duties of the Teacher include: conducting focused observations of children, developing action plans, carrying out activities on a daily basis and evaluating the effectiveness of child development activities, ensuring the safety and well-being of the children, maintaining regular communication with parents, and contributing to the effective operation of the overall early care and education center.

Applicants MUST be at least 18 years old with a minimum of a high school diploma or GED and be able to pass a background check and drug screening.
We prefer applicants that have:
- Experience in a licensed child care center
- Working knowledge of childcare licensing rules and state developmental standards
- The ability to plan lessons.
- The ability to communicate well with children, staff, and parents
- A strong ability to organize a classroom, manage behavior, and muti-task.
- The ability to pay close attention to detail.
- Endorsement for driving a bus is a plus.
