What are the responsibilities and job description for the Payroll and HRMS Analyst position at Otter Tail Corporation?

SUMMARY OF KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Payroll Administration: processes payroll for several operating companies including tax reconciliation, conducting audits, preparing files, creating and reviewing reports; completes payroll preparation activities for the corporate office; serves as backup for corporate payroll; answers payroll and time related questions; demonstrates knowledge of federal and state regulations including FLSA and garnishments
- HRMS Administration: serves as the subject matter expert for the document management module; provides technical support, troubleshooting, and guidance to HRMS users; creates reports to complete data requests; assists with updates to security assignments and data tables; assists with implementation of various modules; opens support tickets with vendor as needed
- Benefits Administration: processes benefit invoices and chargebacks to operating companies; assists in reviewing Open Enrollment session setup, completes ongoing audits for Cobra and dependent enrollments; reviews and resolves HSA contribution and enrollment errors; demonstrates knowledge of federal and state regulations including FMLA and Cobra
- Other HR Support: assists HR department as needed; participates in event planning and preparation, creates the corporate monthly newsletter; assists with wellness challenges; reviews and updates internal processes as needed
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Ability to analyze payroll and HRMS data and identify trends, inconsistencies and areas of improvement
- Excellent communication skills to collaborate effectively with operating companies and other departments
- Strong problem-solving capabilities and adaptability to evolving technologies
- Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel (pivot tables, VLOOKUPS, etc.)
- A high degree of confidentiality and discretion is imperative.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- UKG Pro experience
- Experience using a business intelligence tool for data analytics and report writing
- FPC or CPP or willingness to achieve certification status

- The expected base compensation for this role is $65,000 – $80,000 annually. Actual base compensation within the identified range will vary based on factors relevant to the position.
