What are the responsibilities and job description for the Security Engineer position at Otter Tail Power Company?

In this role, the IT Security Engineer will be a vital team member in maintaining cybersecurity systems to protect the organization's information systems, IT assets, and intellectual property.
Some examples of those activities will include:
- Implement organizational cybersecurity strategy and information security systems to ensure the organization's proprietary information is safeguarded.
- Execute security architecture activities to provide principle of least privilege for accessing organizational information
- Investigate security breaches to determine system weaknesses and conduct testing and configuration procedures across products and systems.
- Analyze security management systems, enterprise systems, and data files to validate security and understand and mitigate risk.
- Plan for security backup and system disaster recovery.
Qualifications:

- Strong organizational, analytical, diagnostic, and project management skills.
- Cyber security requires a lot of collaboration, so effective interpersonal and communication skills, along with a team-oriented mindset are necessary to successfully complete projects.
- A bachelor’s degree in engineering, Computer Science, IT security or equivalent work-related experience.
- A minimum of three years of relevant technical experience or demonstrated knowledge of IT security concepts and best practices is required. Examples include system life cycles, threat vectors, surface attack areas and associated methods performed in external and internal attacks on existing or new vulnerabilities.

- The expected base compensation for this role is $76,000 - $95,000 annually. Actual base compensation within the identified range will vary based on factors relevant to the position.
