What are the responsibilities and job description for the Utility Distribution Lineworker position at Otter Tail Power Company?
Otter Tail Power Company is committed to delivering safe and reliable electricity to our customers, and we're looking for a skilled and dedicated Journeymen or Apprentice Electrical Line Worker to help us achieve this goal. As a Line Worker, you'll play a critical role in maintaining and repairing our electrical distribution and transmission systems.
The ideal candidate will have a strong foundation in electric line construction, maintenance, and repair, as well as excellent communication and teamwork skills. They must also be able to work independently and as part of a team, adapt to changing situations, and maintain a high level of professionalism.
In this role, you'll be responsible for a range of tasks, including:
- Maintaining and repairing overhead and underground electrical distribution and transmission systems
- Framing and erecting poles and attaching necessary fixtures and equipment
- Stringing, sagging, and splicing conductors (wires) and connecting transformers
- Performing similar replacement or repair work as necessary to clear up storm damage
