This position reports to the Director of Athletics and maintains collaborative relationships with staff members in the Division of Student Affairs for the purpose of supporting holistic student development, academic success, team goal achievement, and well-being. On-site presence is required. This is a full-time, exempt, 40 hours a week, 52 weeks a year position.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE: A Bachelor's degree and successful experience as a student-athlete and/or coach is required. Candidates should be knowledgeable about collegiate Esports trends and gaming equipment, experienced in coaching or demonstrating gaming skills and strategies, and demonstrate an ability to design and implement a comprehensive recruiting strategy. Experience in fostering a positive team environment focused on holistic growth is essential.
LANGUAGE SKILLS: Must demonstrate professional level oral and written communications skills including grammar.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS: Must be competent in general math.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
- The successful candidate is responsible for growing a new Esports program that began competition in the 2024-2025 school year. The position stemmed from an exciting investment through an innovation fund at the University.
- The Director of Esports/Head Coach is responsible for providing ethical leadership in managing all aspects of a competitive Esports program. Responsibilities include: meeting or exceeding goals related to the recruitment and retention of academically and athletically qualified student-athletes; training student-athletes for success through practice planning, strategy development, and skill instruction; managing and scheduling the gaming facility; collaborating with Otterbein University Information and Technology Services on gaming station maintenance; and supervision of part-time and volunteer coaches and student leaders/coaches.
- The secondary duty for this role is the administration of Otterbein University's intramural sports program. The successful candidate will construct an intramural schedule each semester, coordinate with our facility scheduler and athletic team coaches for support, and deploy student workers as needed to orchestrate events. Additional responsibilities in this area will be determined by the Director of Athletics.
